Delicious food, quaint restaurant ... highly recommended

Can recommend everyone to eat here. A real treat! Cozy little restaurant, great service, the kitchen is creative & down-to-earth at the same time, great handling of the products, quality is paramount. In the preparation and presentation of the dishes, the boss shows both excellent craftsmanship and a very strong sense of taste. And it tastes particularly good there.

To the podium a further pearl of the Rheingau. This evening we were in small group for Christmas dinner in the "to the podium" in Walluf. Picturesquely located in the Niederwallufer old town not far away and with a view on the bank of the Rhine, the restaurant invites you from the outside in a stylish ambience to climb the steps. Once the gate passes a beautiful cozy, quaint and homely guest room awaits you. The number of tables is manageable, which the cosiness but does not detract, quite the contrary, it creates a certain room atmosphere that invites you to linger. The lady in the service was extremely friendly and competent and accepted our drinks requests quickly. We started with an aperitif (a winemaker sparkling wine, which arrived well cooled and refreshing at the place). Now the order was given up and soon a tapas selection awaited us, as well as a salmon carpaccio, that we could only taste in the freshness and quality in the Adlerwirtschaft in Hattenheim so far. The tapas selection was convincing and was served with delicious and fresh confectionary buns. The main courses were unbelievably good through the bank, which started with the ingenious trout, continued on the vegetarian dumplings with mushrooms and reached the culinary highlight with the beef ragout, which came in such a tasty reduced sauce, that you could have a true Taste explosion was allowed to experience. In addition there was a tasty well-cooled white wine, the fruity and pleasant and above all, well chilled his way into the glass. The dessert a poppy cream brulee was also a true poem and creation that I have never tasted before. After paying and the friendly farewell, we started full and satisfied with the way home. We will definitely come back and have opened up another culinary gem of the Rheingau for us. Thanks a lot!

A small restaurant, with about 10 wooden tables near the Rhine, small menu but great matched, of course, with a large wine list, rustic atmosphere and very comfortable, my steak was great and delicious, the staff very friendly, you will feel right there In good hands. We arrived late and were nevertheless - in terms of both wine and food - lovingly cared for. As far as the portions of both the wild ragout and the - really as desired delivered - steaks, we can only hope that they are in the 3-course menu a little smaller. We will definitely come earlier at the next visit and give it a try.

A very lovingly run restaurant with exceptionally good food. We are always happy to be there and feel well every time. The service is attentive and friendly, the wines selected exquisitely and wisely. The food has always been heavenly! A lot of heart and soul was put into this business. We look forward to our next visit there!

Class instead of mass, this quote best describes "Zum Treppchen". A perfect fit for the Rheingau (with history but not old, but cultivated tradition) meets a modern kitchen. From the basic components of hearty products, but these of high quality and prepared with much skill and heart. In addition, an always attentive service and a very warm chef, where you always feel how much the physical well-being of the guests at heart. Yes, one is sometimes asked with a smirking eye if you really want to have the good rump steak ;-), but this question only serves to maximize enjoyment. Because a meat of this quality, so no DIN A4, with water-sprayed rag, earned medium Gargrad. Therefore, a clear recommendation and value for money absolutely fits, if you look at it economically even a tick too cheap. The negative reviews I can not understand, but it is already significant if the only two negative reviews come from accounts that have never rated anything else, while all the positive reviews come from people who have rated in part hundreds of restaurants.

Our visit to the podium on 11.11.18 was a disappointment. Worst value for money we have ever experienced. For example, rump steak for 26, -. The size of the steak was about half a camembert with 2 small slices of a mushroom with autumn potato oven vegetables. Oven vegetables were about 10 very small, partly still raw potato pieces. At least we now know what autumnal oven vegetables are. The other dishes were also way over priced and did not match the presentations in the presentations. We also drank the wine better for less money. When paying we were then also vermotzt because we had a gift voucher for 100, - € had not previously registered. Courtesy and friendliness looks different for us. Sorry, but after these experiences we can not recommend the podium.
